The Athletes for Africa 'Red & Blue Bowl' Challenge

On Saturday, September 13 we took on the York Lions in the annual Red & Blue Bowl at Varsity Stadium.

On top of beating the York Lions on the field, we also challenged them to 'Be Athletes for Africa'. The campaign was simple: our fundraising competition kicked off on Sept 13, and the team that raised the most money online before the end of the regular season (Oct 18) was the winner.

At the end of the campaign, we had raised almost $500, beating York both on and off the field. More importantly, we’d raised the money as Athletes for Africa, supporting children affected by war in Uganda, Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

You can do the same thing. It’s easy to start your own ‘Be an Athlete for Africa’ campaign.
